TCN Launches Anti-Corruption Unit to Strengthen Transparency and Integrity

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has inaugurated its Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU), aimed at enhancing transparency and fostering ethical practices across its operations.

During the launch event held in Abuja, TCN’s Managing Director, Engr. Sule Abdulaziz, represented by Mrs. Abiodun Afolabi, Executive Director of Human Resources and Corporate Services, called on staff to remain dedicated to delivering reliable power to Nigerians. He highlighted that integrity is critical to TCN’s mission of connecting generation plants to distribution companies nationwide. Abdulaziz expressed confidence that the ACTU will help mitigate operational risks and inefficiencies.

“ACTU will play a crucial role in improving transparency by identifying potential risks and streamlining processes, enabling us to better serve the power sector’s growing needs,” said Abdulaziz.

He further added, “This initiative will provide a robust ethical framework, ensuring our decisions are grounded in accountability and integrity, ultimately strengthening public confidence in our services.”

Dr. Musa Aliyu, Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), represented by Olusegun Adigun, Director of System Studies and Review, reiterated the ICPC’s commitment to promoting transparency in public institutions. He explained that ACTU, as an ICPC-driven initiative, serves as an internal safeguard against corruption, aligning with the commission’s broader efforts to enhance accountability in government bodies.

Newly appointed Chairman of TCN’s ACTU, Bembo Erakevwe, pledged the unit’s dedication to upholding ethical standards and driving transparency across TCN’s operations.
