A coordinated team comprising the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Child Welfare Committee (CWC), CHILDLINE, and Police Station Budgam successfully carried out a child labor rescue operation in Budgam town.
The operation, focused within the jurisdiction of Police Station Budgam, identified five minor children—three from Rajasthan and two from Uttar Pradesh—engaged in child labor. These children were presented before the District Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Budgam under FORM 17 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.
Supervised by the District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) Budgam, the rescue effort ensured that all identified children were placed in temporary shelters. This measure aims to facilitate their rehabilitation in strict compliance with the provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015.
