21 Child Labourers Rescued in Sadar Bazar Operation

In October, the Delhi Police, in partnership with a non-governmental organization (NGO), the labor department, and local officials, successfully rescued 21 children from exploitative working conditions in various shops across Sadar Bazar, Delhi Cantonment. Among the rescued were two girls. The boys have been placed in Mukti Ashram Burari, while the girls are now safe at Rainbow Girls Home in Kashmiri Gate. Legal action has been initiated against the responsible parties under relevant sections of the Juvenile Justice Act and the Child Labour Act.

In a separate operation, a collaborative effort by the Vidisha Welfare Social Organisation (VWSO) Child Help Line and the Government Railway Police (GRP) led to the rescue of 14 minors who were being trafficked for forced labor. The operation began when security personnel at Ganjbasoda railway station noticed 10 children in suspicious circumstances aboard the Ahmedabad Express train.

Further investigations revealed that these children were being transported from Bihar to Ahmedabad for exploitative labor. An additional four children were subsequently rescued in Bhopal. Authorities have apprehended the contractor responsible for the trafficking.

These successful interventions highlight the ongoing efforts to protect vulnerable children from exploitation and ensure their rights are upheld.
